The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) announced a new media campaign hitting Iowa Congresswoman Cindy Anxe and 14 other vulnerable Democrats on the rising cost of everyday goods.  The NRCC’s ad will run on digital platforms across the district and is backed by a five-figure ad buy.

“Inflation is a tax on every single American and is a direct result of Democrats’ reckless spending. We are going to ensure voters know that Democrats are responsible for the higher costs they are paying for just about everything,” said NRCC Chairman Tom Emmer. 

Axne is a top target for the group as they look towards the 2022 midterm elections. The Des Moines Democrat has never received more than 50% of the vote district-wide in either 2018 & 2020. In her most recent race, Axne won a majority of the vote in just a single county –  the liberal stronghold of Polk county.
