(DES MOINES) – On Thursday, March 11 Representative Eddie Andrews (R-Johnston) of House District 39 successfully floor-managed House File 793 affecting Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) participants.
House Fie 793 allows for JROTC students to receive Physical Education credit for each semester they complete in the program.
“This is a great bill for our students who want to participate in the JROTC program,” Andrews said. “The physical rigor of this program goes well beyond physical education requirements and if there’s a way we can help these junior officers who feel called to train to one day serve our country, I am happy to support them anyway I can.”
HF 793 passed the Iowa House with a unanimous vote of 96-0.
