With families across the country left to pinch pennies because of inflation and rising gas prices, Iowans are left with Congresswoman Cindy Axne who is “thankful for all the investments President Biden has made in Iowa in his time in office.”
This morning, Iowans awoke to the news that inflation hit 9.1%, a four-decade high.
Despite Joe Biden’s popularity dwindling to just 36 percent, Axne continues to be hard at work. However, it’s not Iowans she is serving but instead progressive democrats as a rubber stamp for a leftist agenda that has many suffering financially across Iowa.
It was July of last year that Axne told a room full of Iowans that fears of inflation were “false advertisement”.
“Our economy is on a great track right now. I’m assuming you’re talking about a lot of the false advertisements that are out there. You know what? Here’s the deal. They’re comparing any of the costs against last year. I’d say we had a few things increase because we were in the middle of COVID, so no, I’m not concerned about a false advertisement.”
Rather than acknowledging she was wrong, or at the very least distancing herself from those comments, Axne has seemingly doubled down. Not only has Congresswoman Axne refused to blame Biden for rising costs seen across the country, but she is also actively trying to convince voters that everything is fine, Biden is doing a great job, and this is somehow the fault of congressional Republicans, despite their minority status.
In March 2022, when asked if the Biden administration’s spending has led to increased inflation, Axne claimed, “unfortunately, too many people in Republican leadership are just going with narratives that don’t have any facts.” (Interview With KNIA, 3/4/22)
Just a few months ago, in December 3, 2021, Axne said, “Really factually, the President’s policies have done nothing to hurt us when it comes to gas prices or inflation.” (Interview On The Morning Line, 12/3/21)
“I’m thankful for all of the investments President Biden has made in Iowa in his time of Office,” spoke Axne during President Biden’s Menlo, Iowa Appearance, sums up one of the many concerning statements by Axne showing her out-of-touch perspective impacting Iowans financially today.
In a statement to Iowa Field Report, America Rising PAC Press Secretary Kristen Bennett said, “Cindy Axne is so beholden to the Biden agenda, she can’t even admit that the policies she voted for led to the runaway-inflation crisis plaguing Iowans.”
