Republicans Lead Final Iowa Poll of 2022 Midterms

The final Iowa Poll by The Des Moines Register for the 2022 midterm election cycle has Republicans leading in almost every congressional and statewide race, including strong double-digit leads for key Republican incumbents. Mailbag: Mike Franken Does Not Take Military Sexual Assault Seriously

Mike Franken stated in a 2021 Intercept article that unreported sexual crimes in Africa between 2010 and 2020 was a partisan attack. Franken and Miller Silent on Finkenauer’s Outburst

Ex-Rep. Abby Finkenauer’s callous and widely condemned remarks about Polk County District Judge Scott Beattie reflect her disdain for the separation of powers in our system of government. Even two of her fellow Democrats — Iowa State Auditor Rob Sand and Rep. Cindy Axne — joined the chorus of liberal pundits, editors and respected legal minds who called on her to walk back her comments.

Questions I am curious to know why Todd Halbur, one of two Republicans running for Iowa State Auditor, thinks he can fulfill the duties of the office as required. Mr. Halbur was fired from Iowa’s Alcoholic Beverages Division (ABD) in 2018. The following year, he filed...
